2025 in Review: Alcove's Growth & The Year Ahead

As the year finally comes to an end, Alcove is taking some time to reflect on its growth and success expected for 2026.

Our 2025 In Review: Another Year Of Growth For Alcove

It’s been another year of growth, success, and building a community here at Alcove in 2025.

With shared living continuing to grow in popularity and a shortage of housing, we’ve seen firsthand just how important co-living platforms like Alcove are in the US to provide affordable and community-driven housing.

From students to young professionals and even the older demographic, we’ve had a variety of different tenants rent through Alcove this year.

Let’s explore some of the 2025 highlights as we say goodbye to this year.

Our 2025 Round Up

Alcove has continued to expand into new neighborhoods and cities across the US, such as Atlanta and Charlotte, providing landlords with consistent and reliable occupancy as well as tenants with affordable and flexible rents.

We’ve kept improving our Alcove platform with our roommate matching tools, virtual tours, and ongoing support we provide to Alcove tenants.

We are proud to say we have kept providing practical housing solutions during a challenging rental market for tenants across the US, and we only hope to grow further with the global co-living market size anticipated to reach USD 16.05 billion by 2030.

Gen Zs & Millennials Shifting To Co-Living

Shared living is continuing to be popular among Gen Zs and millennials, with a huge shift towards community-driven living with friends. Alcove Rooms excels at providing affordable and convenient urban living for tenants of all ages. We provide access to rent in high-demand areas while enjoying a vibrant co-living environment.

It's been calculated that 58.6% of Gen Z tenants nationwide are rent burdened, and shared housing provides a solution to this.

Among our tenants, we’ve found that Alcove’s shared living doesn’t just benefit financially but also has lifestyle benefits. It allows roommates to network, form friendships, and create mini communities. We give tenants access to desirable housing on a budget.

Providing Affordable Living During Housing Shortages

Limited housing is still causing rising prices and rents across the US, with a 2025 analysis from the NLIHC showing a shortage of 7.1 million homes that are affordable and available to low-income tenants.

Alcove is a leading provider of affordable housing to low-income tenants in the US, thanks to our shared housing solutions. Our tenants save on average 40% compared to one-bedroom rentals.

We support landlords looking to maximize their rental income and get consistent rent, as well as help tenants find affordable housing in desirable locations.

Flexibility For Remote Workers

Hybrid and remote working is still proving to be very popular in the US since COVID-19. Alcove Rooms is ideal for these types of tenants thanks to our flexible leasing terms, whether tenants need a short-term lease for a remote project or want long-term co-living to join a community.

We don’t keep our tenants in longer-term rental contracts, unlike traditional renting, and our rental payments are managed through our platform to avoid awkward payment disputes when living with friends.

Community Focused Living

We’ve seen a shift toward community-focused living in 2025, with our tenants not just looking for affordability but also a chance to live in a small community.

Our community has hosted shared events, formed friendships, and networked with other Alcove tenants. Co-living is proving popular for people's well-being rather than living alone, reducing isolation and providing real connection, which supports mental health.

Looking Ahead To 2026

Moving into 2026, Alcove is looking to keep improving access to affordable housing, expanding our locations, and sourcing eco-conscious homes to align with our tenants' values.

Co-living is set to keep expanding in the next few years, and Alcove is ready to meet this demand, simplifying housing for both tenants and landlords with our simple and easy-to-use shared housing platform.

Our Gratitude & Commitment

We want to take this chance to thank our tenants and landlords for your continued support in 2025. We will keep striving to help renters find affordable and accessible housing and demonstrate just how beneficial the co-living lifestyle can be.

We hope 2026 will be another year of growth and success for shared living solutions, making a difference to both landlords and tenants.
